Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 12, 2026
Ladder Up is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (“Ladder Up,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Our mission is to empower underserved youth through free career readiness, AI literacy, leadership, and policy workshops. The AI Interview Coach (the “Service”) is provided free of charge to the students we serve. By using the Service you agree to these Terms & Conditions and acknowledge our Privacy Policy below.
Terms & Conditions
1. Acceptance of these terms
By entering the access code, providing your email, and using the Service, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility and minors
The Service is intended for students and early-career job seekers. If you are under the age of 18, you may use the Service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, and that parent or guardian agrees to these terms on your behalf. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent; if you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
3. What the Service is
The Service is a practice tool. It analyzes your resume, conducts a simulated voice interview using artificial intelligence, and generates feedback. The feedback is AI-generated guidance for practice purposes only. It is not professional career, legal, or financial advice and is not a guarantee of employment or any other outcome.
4. Acceptable use
You agree to provide accurate information that is your own, to use the Service only for its intended purpose, and not to misuse, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its data.
5. Intellectual property
You retain ownership of your resume and the responses you provide. You grant Ladder Up a limited license to process that content to operate the Service. The Service’s software, design, and branding remain the property of Ladder Up.
6. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated feedback will be accurate or complete.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ladder Up and its officers, directors, volunteers, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ladder Up from claims arising out of your misuse of the Service or violation of these terms.
9. Changes to the Service and terms
We may modify or discontinue the Service and may update these terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
Privacy Policy
Information we collect
We collect: (a) the email address you provide; (b) your resume and the information in it; (c) your voice interview responses and the resulting transcript; (d) the feedback report we generate; and (e) limited usage information needed to operate and improve the Service.
Voice processing notice
During the interview, your microphone audio is streamed to and processed by our AI provider in real time to conduct the conversation and produce a transcript. By starting the interview you consent to this processing.
How we use your information
We use your information solely to: deliver the Service (generate questions, conduct the interview, produce and email your feedback report), maintain records of program participation, and improve the Service. We do not sell or rent your personal information.
AI and service providers
We use trusted third-party providers to operate the Service, including an AI provider (OpenAI) to process your resume and interview, an email provider to deliver your report, and a hosting/storage provider to run the application and store your records. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and are not permitted to use your information for unrelated purposes.
Data retention and security
We retain your resume, email, and feedback report for as long as needed to operate the program and as required by law, after which we delete or anonymize it. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to: know what personal information we collect and how we use it; access and obtain a copy of your personal information; request correction of inaccurate information; request deletion of your personal information; and not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below; we will verify and respond as required by law.
Other U.S. privacy rights
Depending on your state of residence, you may have similar rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information under applicable U.S. state privacy laws. We honor these rights in accordance with applicable law. You may also exercise them using the contact details below.
Children’s privacy
Because we serve students, some users may be minors. We collect only the information necessary to provide the Service and rely on parental or guardian consent for users under 18 as described in the Terms. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.
Data retention
We keep your personal information only as long as needed to provide the Service and improve our programs. Résumés, interview transcripts, and feedback reports are automatically deleted no later than 12 months after your interview. You may also request deletion of your information at any time using the contact details below, and we will action it promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date above reflects the latest version.
